Fly from Kathmandu to Paro, Bhutan, enjoying breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks along the way. Upon arrival, complete immigration and customs formalities before meeting your local guide and private driver at the airport.

Begin the scenic drive from Paro to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital. The journey takes you through beautiful mountain valleys, traditional villages, forests, and rivers, offering your first glimpse into Bhutan’s unique landscape and way of life.

After arriving in Thimphu, visit the impressive Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks, followed by the Memorial Chorten, an important spiritual site where locals gather for prayer and daily rituals.

If time permits, enjoy a relaxed evening walk through Thimphu’s streets, explore local shops, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of Bhutan’s capital.

After breakfast, continue exploring the cultural heart of Thimphu, visiting the School of Traditional Arts and Crafts, where Bhutan’s traditional painting, woodcarving, embroidery, and other artistic skills are preserved and taught. Continue to the impressive Tashichho Dzong, an important center of Bhutanese government and Buddhist tradition, followed by a visit to the Mini Zoo, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal, the takin.

Later, drive toward Punakha, enjoying spectacular mountain scenery, forested hills, and traditional Bhutanese villages along the way. Cross Dochula Pass at approximately 3,100 meters, where, on a clear day, you can enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks and see the famous 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens.

From Dochula, descend through lush forests into the warmer and more fertile Punakha Valley. Visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, beautifully situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers and regarded as one of Bhutan’s most impressive architectural landmarks.

Continue to Chimi Lhakhang, the famous Temple of the Divine Madman, located amid peaceful villages, rice fields, and traditional farmland. Enjoy a gentle walk through the countryside before returning to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Retrace the mountain road to Dochula Pass, situated at approximately 3,100 meters. Take time to enjoy the spectacular Himalayan scenery and visit the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, a beautiful collection of stupas surrounded by prayer flags and mountain landscapes.

Continue the journey through Bhutan’s picturesque valleys and countryside, passing forests, rivers, traditional homes, and small settlements along the way. Upon reaching Paro, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax or take a gentle stroll through the peaceful town, explore local shops, and experience the traditional Bhutanese atmosphere.

After breakfast, begin one of the most memorable experiences of your Bhutan journey with a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). Perched dramatically on a cliffside at approximately 3,120 meters, this sacred Buddhist monastery is one of Bhutan’s most important spiritual and cultural landmarks.

The hike takes around 4–5 hours round trip, depending on your pace and stops. The trail winds through peaceful pine forests decorated with prayer flags, with beautiful views opening across the Paro Valley along the way. Take your time to enjoy the scenery and atmosphere as you make your way to the monastery.

After exploring Tiger’s Nest and descending back to Paro, enjoy a well-earned rest and lunch. If time and energy permit, continue your cultural exploration with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, the National Museum of Bhutan, or a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse to experience local architecture and everyday life.

Return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening in Paro.
