Meet our founder

Ramesh Tamang

Founder | Adventure Guide | Himalayan Explorer

Community Trek was founded by Ramesh Tamang, a passionate Himalayan guide whose story began in the small village of Aiselukharka in Nepal's Lower Everest region.

Growing up in the mountains, Ramesh spent his childhood helping his family on their farm and walking the rugged trails that connected remote villages. Those early experiences nurtured a lifelong love for the Himalayas and inspired him to share their beauty with travelers from around the world.

Like many mountain guides, his journey began with determination rather than comfort. He started his career as a trekking porter in the Everest region, carrying equipment along some of the world's most famous trails. Through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to learning, he progressed to assistant guide, then professional trekking guide, and eventually became a certified adventure guide and expedition leader.

Today, with more than 20 years of experience, Ramesh has guided trekkers, climbers, photographers, and adventure seekers across Nepal's most spectacular destinations. His extensive experience includes leading expeditions in the Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, Upper Mustang, Kanchenjunga, Dolpo, and many other Himalayan regions.
